Hi To All.
I am trying to locate the Family of Lillian Gould Nee Norris.
She was born in Somerset,UK in 1897.
Lillian Married George Gould while he was serving in the ww1.
Lillian and George married in Axbridge,Somerset in 1916.
Lillian Emigrated to New Zealand after WW1.
I am trying to fill that part of the tree.
Any info would be very helpful.
Regards
Jedi james

On marriage reg Lillian has the middle initial "M"
so could this be her
Lilian May Gould age 49 occ Housewife
departed New York USA on the ship "Largo Bay"
arrived London 22 April 1947
last permanent address was New Zealand
address in England "Catcott" near Bridgwater Somerset c/o/Mrs Norris
Lilian M Gould age 60 no occupation
departed London Dec 1947 on the Empire Star
for Wellington New Zealand
last permanent address New Zealand
is this of interest?
Suz
-
Hi Suzard.
Thanks for that info but it looks like they are the wrong Lillian, She went from UK to New Zealand after WW! not WW2.Please advise if further info comes up.
Regards
Jedi james.

What was her middle name? She had the initial M on marriage
Did George go with her?? On marriage he had the middle initial "A" - it helps with the search if you could post middle names
I thought the information I gave would be her (age is almost correct, she was staying with Mrs Norris in Bridgewater- did her Norris family live at that address in 1947?
Her permanent address when she arrived in London April 1947 was "New Zealand"
She stayed with Mrs Norris
When she departed for Wellington New Zealand Dec 1947 her permanent address was "New Zealand"
Didn't think this was her emmigration - but thought it may have been a visit "home"
Suz
-
Hi Suzard.
Thanks for that.
Maybe she was on Holiday.
Is there any other info in New Zealand for her,
Did she have any children,Grand children etc.
Regards
Jedi James

Do you have the middle names???
And any further details on George A????
Did they both go to New Zealand?
Had he been previously married???
There are several Gould/Norris combinations - they are not uncommon names - so it is important to add any extra information you have - middle names /p.o.b./ George A's occupation
There are other Mr & Mrs George Gould's going to New Zealand
Any address's?
Who was Mrs Norris who lived at Catcott near Bridgwater Somerset ?
She might have gone out to visit George & Lilian -and could have put their address as her destination????
All kinds of possibilities giving more information??
Suz
-
Hi Suzard.
The only info that I have is what I have put on the previous Message.
Sorry.
There a few mrs Norris living in Catcott at that time, It could be her Mother Mrs Euphemia Norris Nee Pasker.
Lillian Married George in 1916, as I have been informed is that they both went back to New Zealand after the First WOrld War.
As an occupation sorry I cannot help Further.

Have you looked at the marriage registration?
If so you should have the information that they both had middle names
Maybe it would be an idea to purchase the marriage cert -that would give ages occupation father's names etc - but it would mean you had a y.o.b. for George and what his occ was on marriage
I am struggling to find Lillian & George together
or George's military records
what do you mean by "they went BACK to New Zealand after WW1"? Did they live in New Zealand before???
Suz
-

They have George A Gould b.c.1895 New Zealan

Hello...
Archives Australia have the service record of a George GOULD who married a Lily MORRIS (NORRIS?) of Cheddar on 21 May 1916 in Uxbridge. Cheddar is in Somerset.
Does any of that sound close?
Go here...

Then in the Keywords box type Gould 199

Hi Jedi,
Hope this is of help with placing your couple in NZ. The earliest I can see them on the NZ Electoral Roll is for the year 1928, living in Selwyn Road, Parnell, Auckland with George being a labourer.
If you have access to A******y, you can look at the Electoral Rolls for the following years.
Cheers

Hi, i am probably too late to be of any help on this one but Lillian Gould (nee Norris) was my Grandmother. Lillian and George had 2 sons, George Reginald and Richard Samual. Richard Gould was my Father. Lillian and George had 4 Grandchildren.
-
Gouldie,
I am the great grandson of Bessie Norris, sister of Lillian Gould (nee Norris). I am trying to get more information on the Gould family. I have been able to find quite a bit of information, but I wanted to see if I could verify the information that I have. I also am trying to help my dad's cousin, Cynthia Golfus, who is planning on a visit to New Zealand to connect with members of the Gould family. I believe that she has already been in touch with Bob and David.
Here is the information that I have for the descendants of George and Lillian Gould.
George Alexander Gould
b. Sept. 23, 1886
d. June 29, 1972
m. Lillian May Norris May 21, 1916
son - George Reginald (Arthur?) Gould
b. April 26, 2918 Catcott, Somerset, England
d. 1986 New Zealand
son - Richard "Dick" Samuel Gould
b. Nov. 28, 1924 Auckland, New Zealand
d. Oct. 14, 2010 Auckland, New Zealand
m. Marie ?
