Title: STARMERS in Bugbrooke 1640-1710
Post by: Ros50 on Wednesday 09 October 13 13:18 BST (UK)
Hi All

I'm hoping someone knows something about Bugbrooke.  I've just found that my ancestor Jeffrey STARMER, Citizen and Bowyer of London, (lived in Wapping, died 1735), had 'kinsmen' in Bugbrooke, Northants.  Not too surprising: Starmer does seem to be a Northants name, originally, but Northants is a new county for me, research-wise.

Bugbrooke PRs are on FreeREG from 1710, so I've got some info from there, and there are 9 STARMER/STARMAR burials 1658-1702 inclusive (listed below), but I've not found an on-line source for 17th C baptisms or marriages.  Can anybody advise me if there is one?

Alternatively, does anyone have access to Bugbrooke PRs and could check for STARMER entries c1640-1710?  Just double-checking the burials for extra info, eg. 'infant', 'wife of John', would be a great help to me.  They are as follows:
23 Oct 1658 Jane
27 Oct 1659 Jane
3 April 1665 Jeffery
10 Aug 1674 Isabell
27 Jan 1675 William
31 Oct 1681 Frances
16 Jan 1682 John
19 Feb 1702 John
29 Mar 1702 John

I'd be grateful for any advice or info, thanks!

Best Regards

Ros

Hi Ros.

We have Alan and Marilyn's indexes for Northants.

Alan's web link is on my links below posting.

As it a few folk you need it may be best to ask him.  :)

The last 2 on your list are on the 1700-1750 Northants burial index cd

John   STARMAR      1702   29-Mar
John   STARMAR      1702/1703 19-Feb

both are son of John

Thanks for coming back to me so quickly, and for explaining the last two burials.  Thanks also for the link: I see that the Northants FHS Baptisms CD covers most of the period I want, so I shall give that some thought.

It's brilliant to have access to the advice of experienced researchers - doesn't matter which county: someone will come up with the goods!  Thanks again,

Best Regards
