I have William Morris who died in 1926 in Ellesmere Port. I have tried to find out where he might have been buried/cremated but am having no joy. He is not at Overpool, not at Christchurch, not at Landican (long shot!), not at Blacon as it didn't open until after 1926. Where could he be - I really am at a loss. Many thanks

Hi
If you are referring to the William Morris age 74 then according to Cheshire Parish Registers on Familysearch.org he was buried 8th July 1926 at Ellesmere Port. This is probably Christ Church, Ellesmere Port.

Hi Andy
This is where I'm confused - he's not at Christchurch or Overpool and Blacon wasn't open in 1926. I have no idea where people 'went' if they didn't go to these places. I even tried Landican - not there.

Just heard back from Eastham - he's not there - blimey, something you would think would be easy!!!

Hi
Familysearch.org is a transcription of the Parish Register so your best option would be to check the original which is held at Chester Archives and see what that actually says.

If you contact the burials dept at Ellesmere Port with the name and date, they would do a look up for you

Hi...Could have been Hooton Church....If buried at Christ Church in Ellesmere Port lots of the headstones have been removed so buriel place cannot be identified...
