My great grandmother Lily Rosina Smith was the daughter of George Smith (c.1863-1906) and Helena Meechum (c.1863-1911). I have been able to get a fair amount on her mother's family (Meechum's) going back 3 or 4 more generations from family trees on ancestry but I haven't had much luck with her father's side or with any of the families of her siblings who stayed in England.
I'm interested in trying to trace back further on her father George Smith. In one census entry he is listed as being from Wiltshire (1891 Bisley) while in another he is listed as being from London (1901 Chalford). His marriage record states he was a resident of Chalford and that his father was "Feliss Nullins????". I'm guessing the father's name was latin for something?
Any help or advise on trying to trace George back further is welcome. With a last name Smith, I understand it isn't going to be an easy thing.

I suspect the entry in Fathers name box means "Father Unknown"
nullius filius

Thanks. I thought as much. Looks like he may have been orphaned or illegitimate or something.

Hi,
Source: ww3.gloucestershire.gov.uk
Lily Rosina SMITH was born in 1892, 1893 Stroud 6a 327 Mar Qtr, mother nee MEECHAM. There are a total of 11 children in the marriage of George Robert SMITH & Helena MEECHAM.
There is also a birth of a George Robert SMITH born 1866 Stroud 6a 326 Mar Qtr, which means if this is his birth, he must have lied about his age when he married?
