Hi,
Has anyone researched the Brierley family of Prestwich / Blackley, Manchester? I am researching Richard Brierley b. abt. 1812 in Preston, Lancashire who moved to Manchester via Rochdale (I think).
Richard married Ann Brearley at Rochdale St. Chad on 13/7/1834 and they had 11 children between 1835 and 1858. William, Ellen, Benjamin, James, Martha, Robert, Richard, Maria, Betsy, Sarah and John.
I have been trying to find Richard's baptism to identify his parents without success so if anyone can help me to take this line back a generation I would be very grateful.

Many thanks for your help. I will certainly keep William & Ellen on file. Unfortunately I can't find a baptism for Richard Brierley in Lancs OPC even though I have looked a long way back and forward from his estimated birth date.
I have also exhausted Ancestry, Find my Past and FamilySearch in my quest.
Regards, Baz.

Hi.
One of my research lines includes Richard Brierley and his wife Ann.
Were you able to progress Richard's birth approx 1812? I was a little thrown of the track when on his census records I have his birth location as C1841: Lancashire, C1851: Rochdale, C1861: Preston, C1871: Preston, C1881: Preston and C1891: Preston.

If you look at the 1841 Census living nearby to Richard/Ann and on same Census page is a JOHN Brierley.
Possible Brother?

to: drewdalton & trish1120,
Thanks for your recent messages and suggestions re: Richard Brierley. However, I must advise that I am no longer actively researching this line due to the lack of actual confirmatory evidence of his baptism.
Best wishes,
Baz.
