Title: Replying to a request
Post by: brianjs on Wednesday 02 October 13 18:54 BST (UK)
I am new  to  Rootschat and have registered  correctly. I have tried replying to an old (2006) request for information but my message doesn't seem to get through. I assume my reply message should appear  after  the original 2006 request for info.

Hi Brian and welcome :)

Unless you got a specific error message, all I can suggest is that you try the same thing again - there's no reason why it shouldn't work, but occasionally postings don't "take" during busy times.

Yes, it should show after the original, and you are showing up as only having one post.
Try replying to this one first and see if it works
It could be the old thread is locked for some reason.

And now you have 3 posts, you can use the PM system, if you don't get a response from your post.
You click on the person's post, that you want to contact, and get their profile and you'll see a spot where it says 'Sent a PM' or something like that.  It also tells you if they have been active recently.
If they haven't, their email address may have changed and your PM won't get through, unfortunately.

Brian, if you post was re "James McDonald and his mother Sarah", then your post is showing on the end of the thread from Kirsten.
