Title: John Hobday from Kent England

    Hi
I have a George Hobdy/Hobday estimated birth 1796 he Married Ann Kingsford on 27th of April 1816 at St Margaret-at-Cliffe Kent England their children are Sarah 1821,Mary 1823,Susanna 1827 and George 1833 in the1841-1851 census shows the Hobday family living at 15 Caroline Place Dover Kent England.
I have been in contact with another researcher and we are try to find out if George senior had a brother John I don't have any more information on John only that he came from Kent England
we would appreciate any help

also did George and his family come to Australia, if so when and in which State did they live.

 No I don't have the names of george's parents, George junior came to Australia and married Adeline Mary Baker in 1863

The information on the 1851 census (born c1792 at St Margaret's with a daughter Susanna) would seem to indicate that this is George's baptism:

I can't see a baptism for a son named John.

It would be easier if this person just asked for help with John and supplied his details.

If only George jnr. born in  1833 came to Australia , why are we looking for a possible uncle of this man in Australia?

 I am looking for John Hobday in Kent England not Australia born around the late 1700,that fits in with the birth of my George. John has one decendant in Australia that I know about, and I am trying to find a connect to my George. so I can share my information with them sorry I don't have much information on John. Thank you to everyone that has helped

because everything is done over the internet these days, I didn't think it was a real issue putting the thread on the Australian site because I have had more luck there. sorry for putting my thread in the wrong place

FindMyPast have the Canterbury area parish registers including St Margaret at Cliffe.  From a quick look I can only see one other child to George's parents but it's not a John.  However, the register for 1787-1791 is a bit feint unfortunately so there could have been other children to them.  There are quite a lot of Hobdays in Kent anyway so worth you taking a look at Findmypast.

I think you need to gather all the information that you can about John (supposedly from Kent) and then we can look from there.  What resource gives his birthplace and date?  Census?  Marriage?  Death/burial?  Children?  Residences?  etc. etc..
