Title: RE: Feakins Family Minster Kent around 1810-1818
Post by: Susanh on Wednesday 15 June 05 23:09 BST (UK)
Can someone help me locate The Feakins Family in Minster around 1810-1818.

I am not sure whether this is Minster in Sheppey or Minster in Thanet.

Children were:
George born abt 1811
Amelia Born 1814-1816
William Born 1818

May have been other children

I think there Father was William a Farmer.

Any help to locate them would be wonderful

Regards

Sue

Hi Sue

I don't know if you are still looking for this family but you may be interested to know that there is a lookup offer for parish registers of both the Thanet Minster and Minster in Sheppey on the Kent Lookup Exchange http://members.tripod.com/~jo42/knt.html

Hi Sue

I don't know if you had any success with this or not but there is a submitted baptism (ie. submitted by a fellow researcher) on the IGI for William FEAKINS 1817 Minster, Thanet and also that of a George 1810 (non-conformist) 1810 Margate - parents of both William & Ann http://www.familysearch.org

A possibility in the 1841 census:

High Street, St John Margate

William FEAKINS 65 gardener b.Kent
Ann 65 b.Kent
Ann 12 b.Kent
/
Sarah HARTLEY 65 independant b.Kent

HO107/468 folio 35 page 4

Thank you for your reply.

I had hit a bit of a brick wall. I had assumed that George and William were brothers as George had a daughter Amelia, as did William and I am sure they had a sister Amelia who I just can't find the baptism of. If they were non conformist that might explain it as I am sure I have read that the records of non conformist churches were not always kept as well as conformist churches.

I have had a look, but  can you tell me how I found out who the submitter was, I am sure it is very obvious but I couldn't see it.

Thanks for your help

Sue

Hi Sue

I'm afraid I don't know how to or even if it is possible to obtain the information of the submitter of William's baptism.  George's should be ok as that is an extracted entry.
