Hi Texaco,
It would help if you stated which County Old Monkland is situated in?

Hi
Monkland - Old & New is in Lanarkshire

I would imagine Old Monkland Churchyard (which is 'inside' the boundary of Old Monkland Cemetery).
Burials from late 1700's, possibly also earlier.

Old Monkland was a large parish. Your ancestor could have been buried in the parish churchyard of Old Monkland at Kirkshaws (part of modern-day Coatbridge). Gartsherrie Parish churchyard (Coatbridge) or, if your ancestor was Catholic, St Joseph's cemetery in Airdrie.
North Lanarkshire Council holds any surviving records.
St Joseph’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Dykehead Rd, Airdrie.
Day Books 1860 – 1997. Also various Registers of Sales of Lairs.
Old Monkland Cemetery, Woodside Street, Coatbridge.
Day Books 1901 – 1997. Various Cash Books, Ground Sale Books (from 1875) & Lair Owner Books.
Old Monkland Churchyard, Coatbridge.
No records.
Gartsherrie Parish Church, Coatbridge.
Day Book 1844 – 1885.
