The marriage registration index gives his name as Donald H. Edwards - do you know what his middle name was.  Any idea when/where he died.

I return to this topic again as I have acted on the info on Ronalds death in the hope that maybe a family member may see the info. to date.
Ronald's death cert introduced new info in that his widow was not Mahala but Mary Barbara!!! To ascertain I was following the right Ronald I obtained his birth cert. and it confirmed the date of birth etc were correct.
I then obtained the marriage cert. for Surrey Mid.East. in 1941 for Ronald to Mary and it has turned out to be my Ronald giving his age as 32 and Mary 22.
I have tried to find a marriage or death for Mahala without success.
I obtained a death cert for a  Mary Edwards 1995 in Worthing but proved to be the wrong Mary so this cert. is available to anyone interested (widow of Leslie Walton Edwards).
I am tempted to obtain  the death cert for Barbara Mary in Oxford Jun 1993 but that gives her birth as 1908 which would be 10years older than the age given on the marriage cert (22) in 1941.

When he marries Mary, does he say he is a widower?

If he is, then there is only one death for a Mahala Edwards between 1931 and 1941 -

Jun 1939
Plymouth
Ref 5b 259
Mahala A Edwards
Age 76

Unless it is an indexing error, it seems to be too old for your one.

Frenchie.

I see from this you know hisfather and his origins

What exactly are you wanting to find out? Your first post asks for information on him.
If you tell is all the info that you already have, then we wont be duplicating effort re-finding it.

Liz I only found out about this part of the family a year ago and with the arrival today of the marriage cert to Mary B have I found out for definite that Donald was a long lost member of the family. I posted the info. in the hope that a member of that part of the family may read it.
I am duly grateful for the help I have received on this topic.
