I am searching for the descendants and relatives of Henry Mosgrove who was born in Ireland around 1844. He was married to Emma who died in 1923 and they lived in Failsworth, Lancashire. Together they had nine children one of which was also called Emma, she was my grandmother. She married Fred Hardman and they lived in Hardman Lane, Failsworth. I would be most grateful for any information regarding the history of the family. Thankyou.

Hi
Can you just confirm if you are wanting help
a)tracing forwards from the nine children ("looking for descendents") , in which case we will need their names, years and places of birth, and what you have already
Or
b) tracing back from Henry ("information regardiung history of the family") in which case, if he was born in Ireland, you may be best asking a mod to move this to the Irish Board.

I wondered about this marriage:
Henry MUSGROVE and Emma TAYLOR in 1866 at Manchester Cathedral (formerly Manchester Collegiate Church)
-
If Terry gets his grandma's birth cert, it will give mother's maiden name, and if it is Taylor, then that looks hopeful.
Also - 1861 does have a 17 yr old Emma Taylor bn Failsworth - so looking good!

Parents William and Sarah plus lots of siblings.
Can look closer at details if we are on the right track - as in first post Terry did say he was looking for descendents, not ancestors, I think.

Hi Terry,
Unfortunately there is no gravestone for Section A, Grave Q9
First photograph is Failsworth Cemetery, Section A, Grave Q10 (Edith Simpson and Ada Clarke)
-
Grave Q9 (no gravestone) is directly to the right of Q10 in this photograph - Q10 (Edith Simpson and Ada Clarke) is the gravestone on the centre left. There is also no gravestone on Q8.

Hi Terry,
Failsworth Cemetery, Section L, Grave Q4
Mary Emma Hardman, aged 58 years, burial date 30/09/1925, (26 Richmond St, Newton Heath)
Emma Hardman, aged 40 years, burial date 15/01/1930, (123 Crescent Rd, Crumpsall), Buried from Failsworth parish
Annie Strafford, aged 57 years, burial date 10/04/1935, (26 Richmond St, Newton Heath)
John Hardman, aged 77 years, burial date 17/02/1943,(123 Crescent Rd, Crumpsall)
Note 1: The address for Mary Emma Hardman has been transcribed as 20 Richmond st, on the Oldham Council burial website. It's definitely 26 Richmond st, written in the original burial register.
Note 2: 123 Crescent Rd, Crumpsall was the address of Crumpsall Hospital (now North Manchester General Hospital)
I think Emma is Fred Hardman's first wife Emma Mosgrove (your grandmother)
John Hardman and Mary Emma Hardman I think are Fred Hardman's parents (your great-grandparents)
I was hoping the gravestone would confirm the relationships but unfortunately there isn't one.
