I'd like to get some more information as I discovered through my great-grandmothers birth certificate that she was born in South Dublin Union Workhouse in 1907. I'd like to know more about this and whether the rest of her family were there etc.
I'm in England and won't be travelling to Ireland anytime in the foreseeable future - is there anyway to access these documents remotely?

I noted on here Dublin posts by'' Trelawn1984''yesterday on her post Barrett/Saul/Dowd conundrum that she was going into National Archives to view same registers in her quest for her relative perhaps if you P M Trelawn1984 she might oblige you.
If you know where the family was on the 1901/1911 census'es there is always the 1908 electors roll to search which is on line free.

Hi Jme79, I am going to the National Archives next week (barring unforseen incidents). If you want to send me some info on your great grandmother and tell me what sort of information you are looking for I'll see what I can do.

Hi Jme
The Workhouses in Dublin were also hospitals at the time so it"s very possible that her Mum just had a difficult pregnancy or birth ans so was taken in just to have her !
Is there any other address mentioned on the birth cert ?
