Could someone do a parish record lookup for this marriage please.
Date of Registration Jul/Aug/Sep 1863
Reg District Leicester
County Leicestershire
Vol no 7a Page 341
Im particularly interested in John's parents' names. I believe John was born in 1842 in Syston but Im getting really confused as to who his parents were. On Ancestry Ive found a couple of John Berridges. The one married to Catherine is the one I want, but I dont know who his parents were.
I would look it up at the LRO but I cant get there for over a week.

Greeting’s Vicky. …..
BAD NEWS ……
It was conducted at the Register Office ….
Therefore the Records Office do not hold Register Office marriages
You’ll have to order the certificate through the usual G.R.O. Web Site
Quoting those ref No’s you have given ……..
Sorry …… :'(

Bother! I shall send off for it.
Thanks for finding that out. I had wondered why he married in Leicester when he lived in Syston. That would be why then.

The John that marries Catherine , appears to have died before 1881 as Catherine says she's a widow on that census
-
According to my records there are two John's born around the same time in Syston
John William to John & Elizabeth bapt 15 Jan 1841
John to Henry & Sarah (nee Wheatley 13 Feb 1842
The John born 1841 married an Eliza ?

Right, the certificate was delivered today. My John who married Catherine was the son of Henry and Sarah. Luckily Id not gone far back on John's family which I now realise was wrong.
Catherine was the daughter of Thomas Smith who was a police sergeant.
Im feeling pleased now Im on the right track.. Carol, I will be in touch with you, but Ive got that many tree branches here and there Im trying to make sense of everything.

OK
My husband's Berridge line goes back to about 1690 ish
