Thank you to all those that replied to my first query. It allowed me to find the appropriate records.
I now have another query about a first world war cap badge.
The photographs attached are of my grandfather who was a publican before the war living in Ripon. As far as I am aware he was at Ripon camp, but for how long I do not know. I do not think he served overseas, although I am not absolutely sure.
I have a copy of a post card dated 1917 from Newcastle upon Tyne where he is undergoing some medical test, but again I do not know what it was for.
If anybody can identify the cap badge for me it hopefully will unlock details of his war service.

Yes he's Artillery and probably mounted with the bandolier so could have been a driver.
