Is anybody else having problems with Mundia? Just this week when I try to look at other trees following up on hints the little green leaves give me I come up with the following error message:
Errors Occurred
Unable to Load Family Tree
Error Retrieving Views
Error Retrieving AJAX views, request failure!
I'm finding this quite frustrating, of late Mundia has been very useful, and actually put me in contact with some family members who have been helping to expand my tree.

Hi John,
Yes - I had the same problem a few weeks ago.
If you use Google Chrome, click the 3 horizontal lines in the top right hand corner and open a new incognito window. Then if you visit Mundia (you'll have to login again) it should work. Most other browsers have a private browsing option. I wonder if it's something to do with having browsing data for Ancestry on your PC when using Mundia?
Ancestry sent out an email about a week ago apologising for all recent technical problems and explaining what they're going to do to fix them so hopefully the situation should improve.
Let me know how you get on and if this works.

Hi Jack,
I'm using Safari on a Mac, and tried private browsing, but still got the same error message.
Hopefully this is something that Ancestry are working through.

Hi John,
OK - perhaps I was just lucky that it worked when I went into private browsing.
I've found this thread online: http://forums.mundia.com/thread.aspx?o=0&m=122.5&p=topics.feedback.general
It shows it's a common problem which has been occurring for a few months now.
According to that, it's a problem with your own family tree. I wonder if you created a new account without a family tree, and then used the search option to find users and contact them, whether it would work?
The latest post on that thread mentions another possible workaround which works when trying to view your own family tree, but when trying to view other people's family trees I don't think it will work.

Thanks Jack,
I'll check that thread when I get back home later. The odd thing is I can view my own tree without difficulty, it's just when I try to follow up on a hint it all falls down...

The problems you mention are exactly the same as the ones I have been experiencing with Mundia. After three complaints they finally came back with a reply saying that the reason is because they are 'Beta' whatever that means and some functions are not running correctly. Since they have been in beta since the time I joined it is far beyond me. They also advised that I can still access my trees on Ancestry, which is fine but all I can say is thank goodness for all my paper files.

how do you cope if it thinks your e-mail address is already registered on mundia but have no other e-mail address on mundia even on a free account.

Oddly, while the issue continues on my Mac, I've just tried accessing the site from my iPhone and had no issues.
-
I'm unable to log-in to Mundia at all. I have encountered the problems already covered, but now I can't log-in. I have emailed them, but as yet have received no reply. I can log-in to Ancestry with no problems. Is anyone else encountering the same problems?

I've just tried to sign in and it worked with no problems. Of course it's an hour after you posted so they may have sorted any problem out.

Still can't sign-in here. I am definitely using the right log-in and password as I usually go in regularly with no problems. When I try to sign-in the fields just reset as if I never filled them in.
-
jbj63, try clicking on your name at the top right hand side. That may get you in. Failing that, try clicking 'find people' and put in the name of an ancestor.
Hope you find this useful. :)

Thanks gingerbit
I had already found my way around the problem you are describing above. The problem I have is inability to log-in to Mundia full stop. I have emailed them explaining the problem and have not received any reply. I have even tried to change my password with the forgot password option at log-in and they say they have sent a link to my email and nothing happened.
I have checked my spam folder and it is not there either. Any suggestions? I'm getting rather fed up with this as I use Mundia regularly.
It is almost as if my account has never existed.

Found always easiest way is to reset password all the time and whilst get lots of e-mails is easiest way of getting in as unless re-set password will not let you in as doesn't normally let you in first-time as if you register when you next try to login it detects your e-mail address as being registered and won't let you seemingly log in twice.also seems in beta version wants you to log in incognito and wants you to complete the survey and if you search anywhere on find people if your are not from the usa or australia then will not bring up search results.

I too cannot sign into Mudia - just goes back to login page all the time
I have sent 5 emails to Mundia and got absolutely no respone!
-
Mundia.com is working for me.
I can never remember what my password is, or which email address I use. :o
However I went to where it says - forgotten password - entered one of my email addresses....fingers crossed. Lo and behold I found the email in my spam folder, so I just reset my password, and away I went.
Perhaps try again...with fingers crossed. :)

I believe that a Beta site is a test site where they are still ironing out all of the glitches and bugs. They state in the terms and conditions that this will be a subscription site when it is fully functional. I have been suffering the same Ajax Failure when using the search facility.

I have firefox noscript and I have to "allow" certain parts of Mundia for it [Mundia] to function fully. Maybe you have some similar security if not firefox Noscript.

Hello all,
My daughter-in-law Sharon and I are having trouble just trying to get Mundia's home page on our screen (for more than 3 months now).
She can sometimes have the home page open, but no way can she sign in at all.
I need to check out my family names that are there and it is so annoying.
Just says ''webpage unable to open/connect'' when just trying to open the website.
I myself use Internet Explorer, have now for many years and it is only these past few months that Mundia will not open at all.
Any suggestions?
-
Better connection than me then, just tried to log in.
This Connection is Untrusted
You have asked Firefox to connect securely to www.uk.mundia.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.
Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.
What Should I Do?
If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.
The above message is displayed?

The following worked for me...If using IE open tools / compatibility view settings and add "mundia.com" and click ok.........signed in and got "error loading page" ignore this but at the top of that page were my account access and search access.
good luck

I too am unable to "get in" to Mundia after being extremely patient!! Repeatedly entering my info, creating new email address even to start again as if first time i have tried.
Very frustrating and it seems that it has been going on a very long time and probably never going to be sorted out!
-
Hi Markswife,
I think it must be your set-up as I tried there and then on reading it and straight in without any problems.
The URL I'm using is : <https://www.mundia.com/us/Account/SignIn> to get the login page. Is that what you have?

I have tried using your link but still no luck. I keep chasing myself round n round login page!
-
The next advice usually (I've never had to use it, touch wood) is to clear your internet cache. and try to log in to Mundia again. You could try that if someone repeats what I have suggested.

Thanks for your advice, but have now found a different way of finding the information I was looking for by using another site! Thank you

Hello all,
My son who is in IT has somehow enabled me to login, so far it has worked, but not sure for how long.
Thanks for all your inputs.

I have no problem logging in to Mundia, certain trees it will not access though.
The only use of Mundia is to search ancestry public trees, which are notoriously unreliable. ::)
-
Ancestry have announced the demise of Mundia (amongst other services) and will not be updating or expending any resources on the project.
-
I had an email to say mundia will not be supported after 30 September. I can't access it now. Just keep being directed to ancestry subscriptions . help please. Sandra

the homepage at mundia.com has the following message
Starting on September 30, 2014, Mundia.com trees will become part of Ancestry and be available in English, French, German, Italian, Swedish and Spanish.
We understand the value this service has brought you in discovering your family history around the world during your time as a member. To keep the discoveries you've made, we will be making your family tree accessible to you through Ancestry.com for free. This site will enable you to make edits to your family tree and share it with others. To preserve the family trees you have created in your native language, we encourage you to download your GEDCOM file while logged into the Mundia site before September 30th, after which time your family trees may not be offered in your native language on Ancestry.com.
For further questions, please visit our FAQ page or contact Member Services at support@mundia.com.
Please note, you can still access your family tree information by following the steps outlined below or you can continue on to use Mundia until September 30th.

If you go to the page Falkyrn has quoted above and scroll down to the part that says
can continue on to use Mundia until September 30th
the word 'Mundia' should be a clickable link, and enable you to access the log on page of Mundia until the 30th.
