Title: Beaumont or Bowman from Kilmood

My grandmother was born in the Parish of Kilmood in 1872.  Her mother was Martha Beaumont or Bowman and father was John McCullough.  I cannot locate any info on Beaumont or Bowman from that area and I don't even know which name is right.  The LDS website has births under both names.  Any info out there?

Hello Terry-Lynn,

Kilmood is in the area covered by  The Lecale Historical Society  (http://www.lecalehistory.co.uk/index.htm) which is based in Downpatrick, the County Town of Down. The Society's website contains a link to Ros Davies' Co. Down Genealogy website. I had a quick look and noticed a Beaumont on the list. One of the Society members may be able to answer your query .. the site contains an email address.

MAGGIE 3-7-1872. ALL AT KILLMOOD, DOWN. PARENTS. JOHN MCCULLOUGH & MARTHA BEAUMONT.

Yes Maggie was my grandmother.  Hard to locate any other information on them though.
