I'm looking for any information about a James Millin of St. Cuthberts, Edinburgh. I have him listed in the 1861 census as living in Hawick in Roxburgh, aged 41, but can't trace him in the 1851 or 1841. Occupation plumber, any help would be appreciated, thanks.

1851 census has a James Millin age 29 plumber born Edinburgh as a lodger at Market Place, Selkirk along with several other lodgers. He's not with a wife or children.
It rather looks as if wife Elizabeth, who he's with in 1841, had died and he later remarried to the Janet he's with in 1861. It look as if he married Janet in about 1852 given the age of their eldest child.
FamilySearch has a marriage for James Millin and Elizabeth Henderson on 26 March 1841 at St Cuthberts, Edinburgh and then a marriage for James Millin and Janet Crawford on 1 September 1852 at Hawick, Roxburgh.
FamilySearch also has baptisms in Hawick for children of James Millin and Janet Crawford from 1856 to 1865 but nothing for his child with first wife Elizabeth.

Many thanks for the help, there is no mention of the family in the 1871 census, although I have them in Hawick, Roxburgh in 1868, I wonder if they moved away? Still thanks again.
