Hi
There is a family tree on ancestry complete with baptism, marriage & death dates of Israel, born 1871 in Glamorgan, married Margaret Bowcott and died 1946. If the tree is correct, Israel is descended from -
Evan Rees 1838 Mertyr Tydfil, Glamorgan
William Rees 1784 Llanarry, Glamorgan
Thomas Rees 1756 Llanarry, Glamorgan
Lewis Rees 1733 Penmark, Glamorgan
I haven't had time yet to look at census records, and there is a marriage record for Israel Rees 1734 in Carmarthen, but what info do you have that suggests the 1734 Israel is an ancestor of the 1871 Israel?

Hello :)
There's a Baptism on 20 Sep 1741 at St Peter's Church, Carmarthen, of an Israel Rees, the son of John Rees. Also a Baptism at the same Church on 19 Dec 1791 of William Rees, the son of Israel Rees.
Best Wishes
Morgan

Thanks for the info. The Israel Rees born 1871 died 1946 was my Great-Grandfather. I have a Arnold Rees born 1702 in Porthkerry, Glamorgan as the father of Lewis Rees born 1733. Do you have any further info on them please. My cousin had a family tree with Israel Rees, born in Carmarthen, on it. I can't see any real connection as he was from Carmarthen and my Rees origins were from Glamorgan. She had information to suggest he was married to a Margeret Lewis. The name Israel is unusual as he apart from my G-Grandfather, seem to be the only ones using that name in our family. I haven't been able to contact her to verify him as our ancestor but if anyone has any info on him i will try to see if their is a connection somewhere. Thank You.

There's a marriage at Carmarthen St Peters on 29th November 1763, of Israel Rees and Margaret Lewis. Both signed the register.
Baptism of Bridget Rees, dau of Israel, at St Peters on 10 April 1771
There's no obvious connection between the Carmarthen and Glamorgan families, so it would be best to contact your cousin. I assume you have traced your Israel's parents, etc in Glamorgan?
