Post by: Dai Thom on Monday 26 August 13 19:21 BST (UK)
Hi All
I have not used rootschat for a while, so I hope that  someone can help me find info on my Grandfather, Thomas Llewellyn he served in the 1st. world war in the Welsh Regiment as a Sargeant, army no. 31017.
Any help would be great and I could show it to my mother who is the last of his children still alive
All the best
Dai Thom

Over 60% of WW1 service records were burnt in the WW2 blitz so there is no trace for Thomas

There is an entry on the Medal Roll Index showing he was a Private and then a Sgt in the 19th Welsh Regiment

He was awarded the British,  Victory  and 15 star medals and served in France from 5.12.1915

In the remarks column there is this note but I don't know whether it indicates his discharge date or something else

Looks like - Ch or Cl . Z   27.1.19

Carole/Dai

That reference will indicate that he was transferred to the Class Z Reserve on 27th January 1919.
