Thomas Skay TOVEY baptised 27th January 1819

Thank you so much for that, i had found through someone else tree that his parents were possibly called Thomas and Ann but that's great and i had no information at all on siblings.
Can i ask where you managed to find this for me? :)

Hi,
The data was obtained from the Gloucestershire Family History Society (GFHS) Gloucestershire Baptism Index 1813-1837, Disc No 703.

Hi,
I have now checked the GFHS Gloucestershire Mariage Index 1800-1837 and can find NO trace of the marriage of Thomas & Anne TOVEY.
However, there is a marriage for a Thomas TOVEY & Hannah JONES, a Widow, at St Mary, Cheltenham, 6th May 1826, by Banns.
A 2nd marriage perhaps? The 1841 Census should prove/disprove this.

Hi, thank you for that, i had a look and i have the 1841 census for Thomas Tovey, living with Ann Tovey and son Lewis Tovey (im guessing Translation error and its Louis) they are all the right ages.

From another persons family tree, they have listed Thomas Toveys Wife as Ann Morris b.1874.

In fact i have just found a marriage from Pallots Marriage index for them, they were married in 1804 in Winchcombe, Gloucestershire.

The 1804 Marriage is on FreeeREG, unfortunately no Witnesses named.

There are several Tovey/Tuvey/Tuvy Marriage on there that may be earlier generations.
No Baptism/Burials though.

1851 Thomas/Ann are born c 1784 Winchcomb, Glous
I dont think the 1861 census quoted on the Tree for Thomas is correct though.

Trish :)

Hi,
The St Peter, Winchcombe PRs have certainly not been destroyed, and are held at Glos Archives on film, reference PMF 368, 1539-1812, and also on microfiche 1539-1812 with the exception of 1709-1728 & 1771-1802.

Hi Annette, I too have not been able to get passed Thomas, someone else's tree on ancestry lists Thomas's parents as William Tovey 1758 - 1838 and Mary Skay 1756 - 1838. Obviously I have no idea how accurate that is, although Thomas's son, also a Thomas has the middle name Skay.
