Title: Murphy, Dublin
Post by: Rpeake on Thursday 22 August 13 09:18 BST (UK)
I'm interested in learning about the murphy family who they were, their lifestyle, occupations etc
All I have to track them by is William murphy born to Daniel murphy and frances Thompson . Not quite sure how to learn about the correct murphy family.

Murphy is one of the commonest, if not THE commonest, name in Ireland, so you'll have to try to shrink your search parameters a little.

Do you have a DOB for William?

Have you tried these websites:

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/

http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/

there are also some good websites for some of the Dublin cemeteries, eg http://www.interment.net/ireland/dublin.htm

I am not an expert in Irish FH (though I have helped a friend with her tree - she's a Murphy!)  and others will, I'm sure, be able to offer far more help than I can, but those sites above are free and may offer you some useful pointers.

Nobody knows as when he was born , he has one living Child but she is nearly 90 I roughly think the year was 1889 going by the census records. Thank you for the links I shall try them out.

All I have managed to find is the 1901 and 1911 census record showing his address , occupation the general stuff the irish census shows but I can't find an actual birth or death record (death I know was either 16th or 18th jan but don't know the year), I've no idea what he worked as after 1911, where he lived, only other thing I know is he was a private in the Dublin fusiliers but can't even narrow down them down as don't know his reg number, when he enlisted etc. any help finding any information would be fantastic.

Would like other opinions on this marriage or are my eyes deceiving me
Irish Genealogy
Harrington St 25 May 1890
Daniel Murphy to Frances Cody father Richard Cody but looking at the book image it appears to be Richard Thomson and Maria Keating.
Running a search for Richard Cody and Maria Keating gives no results but Richard Thomson /Maria Keating does.
