What is the earliest census year that you have George on? Perhaps you could post the full details ................. it's much easier to look for people if we know who we are looking for ie. where born/where likely to be living/occupation etc. etc..
Do you have any details from the marriage certificate? Do please post them as well as with a name like HARRIS we really need to know more to ensure that you get, hopefully, the correct info.

I have only been able to look at the 1881 Census.
George Smith Harris b c 1848 in Sheerness, Kent, occupation Blacksmith. Address 18 Sheldon Street, Croydon, Surrey.
Wife Emma FRENCH b c1848 in Charlton, Kent.
FreeBMD says they were married in 1870 in Greenwich.
Children Annette M c 1873, Ernest G c 1876, Walter John 2 Apr 1877, Alice M c 1879.
I have much more on Walter.
