Title: Thomson's & Tulloch's
Post by: moms_nuthouse on Monday 19 August 13 15:31 BST (UK)
Hi,
I looking for any and all information I can find on the Thomson's and Tulloch's of North Ronaldsay. I'm at a stand still for anything around 1776.

North Ronaldsay parish records only go back to the mid 1700s, although there is a list of heads of households dating to the 1690s if that helps (Orkney Poll Taxes of the 1690s, James Irvine)

Tullochs made up around a third of the population of North Ronaldsay, so there were quite a few of them there. Thomson was the surname of the island Baillie (the landlord's representative) so again there are quite a few of them.

Some examples I have found:

Is this any help?
