Would somebody be able to help with a Sarah Ann Martin. Born 1874 in the Stoke area, father Thomas Martin mother Sarah. She married William Garner in January 1892 in St Johns Hanley. I understand that there were two Sarah Ann Martin's with father Thomas in Stoke area and with a birth in 1874. One had a mother, Sarah Chatfield, and is shown living with them in 1881 in West Street. Not sure whether this is the correct family as SAM is not with the same family in 1891 and may have died? Any help gratefully received. Thanks P

Hi,
Do you have a copy of Sarah's 1892 marriage certificate? If so does the occupation of her father match that of the one you have found in 1881? Who are shown as the witnesses?

Thanks that is great - I see my confusion not only are there two Sarah Ann Martins born 1874 whose father was called Thomas ... their mothers were both called Sarah too ... As suggested I will have to get the marriage cert as the details I have only show the christian name of the mother ... hey ho.
