I'm researching Henry Barker who was born in St Pancras in Nov 1873. His parents were William Barker and Mary Allison. I have found Henry on census records from 1881-1911. In the 1911 census he is listed as living in Hornsey and married for 5 years to a woman called Elizabeth who was born in Winkfield, Berkshire. Henry's occupation was a scale maker and in the 1891 census he is listed as an apprentice along with his brother Arthur who was in the same trade.
I can find no record of Henry's marriage to Elizabeth and suspect they were living together as man and wife. I can also find no record of his death either. The trail has run cold after 1911.
Confusingly his brother Arthur lived for a while at 11 Nutt Street in Camberwell and some electoral records for the 1920s show a Henry Barker and Elizabeth living at the same address after Arthur had moved on. I know that this Henry Barker is not the one I am searching for and merely a coincidence.
Perhaps Henry was a casualty of WW1, but I have found no evidence of this yet. There is a possible death entry for Stepney in 1936 that might be him - the only other candidate I have found was a record for 1926 in Paddington which I know now is not Henry. I can also find no record of Henry migrating abroad.
Consequently I'm stuck with a brick wall here - can anyone kindly offer some suggestions where I should look next? I have traced all of his brothers with ease but Henry is a dark horse for some reason.

Thank you for the feedback. Unfortunately the respective marriage registers on ancestry show none of these marriages are for Henry Barker, scale maker. I had tried to locate all Elizabeth names in the census records who were born in Winkfield in 1882 to see if any of these married Henry, but to no avail. That said of course the 1882 date could be in error.

If the marriage was at a Register Office, or was non-conformist (Methodist, Baptist, Catholic etc), then it won't appear in Ancestry's "London, England, Marriages & Banns, 1754-1921" database.
There are some trees on Ancestry that have Henry married to Elizabeth Chappell?

Thanks. The marriage register entries for Ponders End in 1905 list Elizabeth Sophia Chappell and Henry George Barker on the same page but for different marriages 2 months apart, so I think the other tree entries are not Henry. There is a possibility that Henry might have been of Wesleyan/Methodist stock as his elder brother William James appears to have had a Wesleyan burial in 1914.

Not sure what you mean
I can see the marriage as
Apr/May/Jun 190
Edmonton reg district
Ref 3a 790
4 names on page - Henry George Baker, Elizabeth Sophia Chappell, Lillian Elizabeth E Goode, and George Conyard Williams
-
OK, I see what you mean now.
Actual parish register is on thge Ancestrry London Met Archives
And Henry George Barker marries Lillian Elizabeth E Goode, and Elizabeth Sophia Chappell marries George C Williams.
So that can be ruled out for definite. (Just goes to show not to take any notice of online trees, all those people had never checked the original record and are perpetuating incorrect information!)(and it seems an ever increasing trend to take info from an online tree as fact ..... Oh no, dont get me started!)
Did your Henry and Elizabeth have children? If so, a childs birth cert would give her maiden name

Yes sadly none are for Henry and I agree there are some totally misleading tree entries on ancestry and elsewhere..... My trail for Henry finishes with the 1911 census so I have no idea on children.
