Title: burton bentley parry
Post by: mofav on Monday 12 August 13 10:11 BST (UK)
I am researching the Parry family for a friend. His grandfathers name was Burton Bentley Parry. I found his birth 1910 in Kilkenny, Ireland his marriage 1940 in Kensington and his death 2000 Barnet, Middlesex. I have not been able to find his parents. If any one can help I would be most grateful.

This family in Goslingtown in 1911 looks likely:

Transcribed as Barton Parry. Father's middle name Bentley

Hi . Thanks again for the info on Dulas Bentley Parry. I googled his name and found military for him, very interesting. I found his parents, Frederick William Parry 1843 and Rhoda Sophia Holder 1841. I have gone back the next generation for Rhoda but can't find parents for Frederick. I don't suppose you could help. Thanks

Just tracking Frederick back through the censuses it seems likely that his parents were John, a farmer, and Selina Parry. Per the 1851 census (Hentland, Herefordshire), John's birthplace was "Dowlas" which could be the origin of his grandson's forename Dulas.

Seems to be a strong Parry connection with Dulas going back to the 16th century

Hi ShaunJ
I have spent ages trying to find the surname of Selina and a marriage for John and Selina but have come up with nothing. I found the 1851 census but that doesn't give any answers. Don't suppose you know anything about Selina.

I suggest you post a request for assistance on the Herefordshire board, referring back to this thread

Hi mofav,
My name is Katharine Cousins and I'm currently researching the Littlejohns family (related to Burton Parry through marriage) on behalf of the Australian National Maritime Museum. I do not currently have the function to private message you, but if you are willing, can you please private message me back.
Thankyou,
Katharine Cousins

Thanks Conahy, I did know that but didn't want to randomly span posts... But maybe that won't be an issue now   :)
