Can anyone help in looking up a birth for Bridget Magher approx 1820?
Her parents were John Magher and Margaret Welsh.
I know that the spellings of her surname could vary. Can be Maghar / Meaghar / Meagher / O'Meagher, etc.
I know it's a long shot.
Regards
Evelyn

Hi,
Have you tried rootsireland?
It is free to search but you have to pay to see the results. These are transcriptions from registers.
Using the free search there is a birth of a Bridget Maher in 1813 in Waterford which seems to fit with your info. Seems to be in Trinity Within Parish.
Hope this helps.
Halfpenny.

Dear Halfpenny
Many thanks for your link and I can't believe that you found what I've been looking for in years. Maybe it has just been added to the system. Bridget either lied abut her age or didn't know but it's definitely her.
Kind regards
Evelyn

Hi Tazzy. you should try contacting Waterford City Library, they have all Waterford church records on Micro Tape. DEB

I had a look at the 1821 Waterford census and could not find them.
-
Yes, I couldn't find them either. They must have emigrated to Canada between 1821 and 1843. Bridget married in 1843.
-
Vasaborg,
Would it be fair to say that the 1821 census of Waterford is quite incomplete?
I've not been able to find many people in the 1821 census who I know were there at the time..

yes your right a lot is missing. Most was destroyed in the Civil War.
