Hello
I'm hoping someone can help me with this question.
I'm researching a John Gallagher (Gallacher) that died in died on January 1934 in Haddington. My question is would there be a burial register that can be checked for place of burial. I the know details from the death cert but I would like to find where the grave is located.
Thanks for any help.

According to the East Lothian Council website, their cemetery records are administered by the registrars in the localities.
Cemeteries and areas:
http://www.eastlothian.gov.uk/info/648/death-funerals_graves_and_cremations/193/burial_services/2
Registrars offices:

The cemeteries in Haddington on the list are:
St Mary's Churchyard
St Martin's Cemetery
St Mary's RC Cemetery (records held by the RC church)

Hi,
Did he live in Haddington ? The address on his death certificate might give you a better idea
if he lived in e.g. North Berwick or somewhere other than Haddington he is more likely to be buried
in a cemetery near his home.
