Hi Everybody
I really think the person i am looking for was found under a gooseberry bush. Really stuck until I can find parents of Richard Frift or any of the above spellings apparently born 1748 He married Martha Matthews, August 1777 in Hurst.
Any help appreciated, thank you.
Greta :)

Hi
The Berkshire Baptisms Index has this:-
Wargrave St Mary
1) 13 Jan 1750/1 -Richard Thrift s William
2) 06 May 1753-Richard Thrift s William (this entry is not in date order in register)
Could be the same Richard :)
Wargrave is adjacent to Hurst

Thanks Kim, a glimmer of hope to follow up. ;D

Sorry to rain on your parade, Greta, but the Wargrave PRs have these burials:
26.3.1752 Richard Thrift
18.4.1762 Richard Thrift
Unfortunately, there is no additional information given, other then the name, but it would seem likely that in both cases they are the burials of the Richard Thrift baptisms which Kim has given you.
Also, I have Friths in my tree - plenty around this area, mine are in Great Marlow, about 12 miles from Hurst. Infact, one of the Frith wills I managed to obtain was actually headed THRIFT alias FRITH. It might be worth looking out for Friths as well - just to add to your burden!! ;D
