Title: Child born in South Dublin Union 1921
Post by: Striker69 on Tuesday 23 July 13 20:57 BST (UK)
Hi

Looking for any information/suggestions/pointers as I am trying to trace my grandmother's details.

Her name was Carmel Nagle (nee Corcoran), born in South Dublin Union on July 21st, 1921. She died in 1985.

Family folklore states that she was adopted by Francis and Mary Corcoran of 50 Charlemount Street, Dublin, so assuming my grandmother took or was given her name by them.

Hope you can help

Hi,

There was a birth registered for a Carmel  Corcoran, Dublin South,  Jul - Sep 1921, Volume Number: 2, Page Number: 555.  (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/F1MV-WXM).

Francis and Mary's marriage record might also be interesting.

You could try the National Archives, Bishop St. for the records for the South Dublin Union workhouse.

The Dublin Electoral List, 1939, shows a Francis W. and Mary Corcoran living at 4 Charlemont Place, (http://www.dublinheritage.ie/electoral/search.php)
