Title: Bachelor(s) Lane, Cromarty
Post by: Rosehill132 on Saturday 20 July 13 09:13 BST (UK)
I have one of my descendents (John Bain) living at what looks like No 1 Bachelors Lane, Cromarty on the 1871 census.  I can't seem to find this on any maps from near to this time however.  Does anyone know of this lane, and if it still exists, where it is / was?  The next entries on the census (either side of Bachelors Lane) are for Sandgate and Barclays Lane if that helps?

http://maps.nls.uk/index.html has old ordnance survey maps going back to the late 1800s so you may be able to find it on one them.
