Hi,
Please can someone help? I have a marriage of a M Moran and P Ashby in 1950 Lambeth Surrey. I have no subscriptions and I am desperate to know who Michael's parents were,
I have a feeling he hails from Northern Ireland.
Thankyou in advance to anyone who can help

I don't think anyone will be able to help with details of the marriage in 1950 you would need to obtain their marriage certificate
Marriages for London England & Banns only go up to 1921 and Surrey marriages up to 1937 on Anc*y
If you know these person to still be living you should remove their full names
I think the only way forward would be to obtain their marriage certificate which will give you
his age, his father's name their occupations etc... then you can move on from there hopefully finding his birth entry
Certificates can be ordered from the GRO http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/
here's the details of their marriage entry
Jul-Aug-Sep 1950 Lambeth
Volume Number: 5c Page Number: 3321

Not that this helps with their marriage but from the
1954 Electoral Register Lambeth the couple were living at
2 Belle Vue Gardens SW9, two other people living at the same address surname Pike

Hi Rab
The GRO marriage index is available on several sites but no-one has online access to the actual registers.
If you knew the date and which Anglican church they married in, it may be possible to go to the archives and have a look to see if the register has been deposited for safekeeping. If they married in a non-Anglican place of worship or a register office, then only the register office would have a copy.
You'll have to buy the certificate but only the fathers will be named.
