Edith Hawthorn/Haythorn married William Hollins of Leigh, Staffordshire in Astbury, Cheshire in 1797. There were both spellings of her surname on the records. If her age on her MI is correct she was born c1768. I can't find any baptism records for her anywhere. She may have been a relative of William's first wife Mary Hawthorn c1761-1796, who I think was living in Colwich at the time of her marriage. An Edith Hawthorne witnessed William's will.

Hawthorn, Hordern, Horderne, Hordorn, etc., all seem rather interchangeable!
Please let me know if it helps!

Hello Mike and welcome to RootsChat,

Thanks for getting in touch. I’ve not done much to my tree for a while so I had to think back a bit. I’m a Hollins and it’s surprising the variations of spellings of that name there are. Are you new to family history or and old hand? I’ve masses of info that needs sorting but I keep putting it off for another day…..very addictive family history.
