I have been searching for my great uncles for some time now. One of my great uncles Alfred CROW was born in South Reston Lincolnshire in 1901 and after purchasing his birth certificate recently I may have found his death in 1980 in Carlisle Cumbria.
Can anyone provide any more information on the Alfred CROW that died in 1980 in Carlisle?
This is the first possible relative in Cumbria

From freebmd
Marriages December qtr 1889
John Edward Crow Sculcoates 9d 283
Ede Thompson Sculcoates 9d 283
Marriage was at St Peter's Drypool as per www.yorkshirebmd.org.uk
I think you would need to buy a copy of the death cert to see who reported the death etc. There are no Alfred Crow marriage specifically in Cumbria but he could easily have moved there after his marriage
It's very likely he is the right one given he was b January 1901

Hi Carole,
Yes, this is his family. The birth dates are a perfect match. I cannot find a burial for him online in Carlisle. It has taken me a few years to find a possible death and was hoping things would then fall into place. I was hoping a burial might then turn up a family.
Thanks anyway,

Hi
The Carlise RD covered a very large area so you would need his death cert to establish exactly whereabouts in Cumbria he died.
http://www.ukbmd.org.uk/genuki/reg/districts/carlisle.html
A burial record would not show anything re: his family - just burial date/location/plot number.
You also need to consider that he may have been cremated.
The death cert will show the name of the person who reported the death and their relationship. That may be a family member - it may not as anybody could report a death.

Thanks again Carole,
Looks like it is still not going to be easy to find what I am looking for.

Hi
If you decide to order the death cert, make sure you do it from the GRO website which will cost £9.25GB. Whatever you do - don't order it from another site as some charge more than double that amount
The fee includes postage www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

Thanks for the advice Carole.
