Title: 17th November 1940 Sheffield

Does anyone know if something significant happened on the above date. I have recently found details of a grave in Ecclesfield cemetery contained the bodies of 3 people Sidney Wigley Agnes his wift (nee Burtoft) and their 11month old daughter Ann. all died on the same date above. Sidney was a soldier at this point and the grave photo is on the war graves photographic project site. I have established a blitz event occurred on 12 Dec that year but nothing else

There was a bombing raid on that day.

Thanks for your reply. I had found those websites but only one of the deaths occurred on 17th November. That one was in Wakefield. My people lived between Carbrook and Attercliffe Road in Sheffield. I can only assume they were the victims of an early raid on Sheffield
