a tidy from me..it must have been difficult to get on and off that bicycle..I wonder how good the braking system was..I can imagine myself going heads over heels when I applied the brake..lol,Tommy

Every year in Evandale Tasmania they have a penny-farthing race around the town - I'd love to see it one day.

He looks like a cheery soul - as we are led to believe blacksmiths were!!   ;) ;)

While out for a walk a couple of weeks ago, we saw a cyclist in full cycling club garb riding a penny farthing.  We saw him again a couple of hours later.

I imagine the "braking system" involved leaning on the pedals to stop the wheel rotating.   :o
