I am looking for an Alice and Annie Cook that was brought to Australia by their father Arthur (James ) CooK seems he went by both names.
Family stories say he was a sea captain ( I have been unable to find any evidence of this.
I have no idea of the dates of the girls births
Arthur (James) was 52 when he died in Tasmania 1889 making his birth around 1837.
So I am assuming the girls would have been born ( 1855 ??? )
Dont know if there was any other siblings or the girls mother.
He did have a family in Tasmania as well where he went as Arthur.
Again family story goes he left girls in Victoria with friends and continued thru to Tasmania ::)

There is an 1863 marriage in Islington for an Arthur James Cook to Jane Walford but the marriage cert shows his occ as short hand writer so no connection to the sea ???
Is any occ shown on his death cert or on the birth certs of his Tasmanian born children?

I dont have anything on Arthur at all on when he came in or out.
He married a Sarah Hull 1883 here in Tassie and had four boys the first born

Did the 1885 Arthur (Crook??) die as he would not have 2 sons both called Arthur
If he was born 1837 - he would have been 46 when he married in 1883 and presumably died the year his last son was born
Is there any info on his 1883 marriage cert that would help find him in England?
