Hello.
First time posting so if I'm in the wrong place please let me know.
I'm trying to find information on Arthur Doherty and Mary Mooney.
I am trying to double check this, since I pulled these names from 2 different places, and It also seems like I am missing my great-grandmother Rosanna, from the list. Here is what I know.
Arthur Doherty (father)
b. abt. 1826,
d. 24 Dec 1876 ,
Mary Mooney (mother)
b. Abt 1836
d. unknown
They were married 24 April 1853
Children -
John Anthony Doherty, b. 7 May 1854 Cashel, Gleneely,
Michael Doherty, (Micks), b. Abt 1855, Moneydarragh, Culdaff
Teresa Doherty, b. 6 Feb 1857 Cashel, Gleneely,
Mary Anne Doherty, b. 27 Aug 1861 Cashel, Gleneely,
Catherine Doherty, b. 28 Oct 1865 Cashel, Gleneely,
Thomas Doherty, b. 20 Dec 1868 Cashel, Gleneely,
Arthur Doherty, b. 16 Jun 1871 Cashel, Gleneely,
Supposedly, my great-grandmother Rosanna, was born in the month of October, in the early to mid 1850's. I noticed Michael was born in a different location, so maybe she was also.
I was hoping someone had access to the parish registers, from around that area. Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks so much.
Colleen

A search for children of Arthur Doherty and Mary Mooney on the RootIreland index also brings back William 1864 and Fanny 1865, it's pay per view.

Slight difference in extracted births in LDS database-
Catherine born 28 Aug.1865 https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/F51X-CFX
Thomas born 18 Dec.1868 https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FPYY-3S7
Arthur born 14 June 1871 https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FP1F-H82 or
10 Oct.1871 https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/F5KX-P3Y
which seems to indicate there might be 2 couples named Arthur Doherty & Mary Mooney having children around the same time.
Death of Rose (Doherty) Gallagher-

Didn't expect that for the combination of names around the same time in Donegal, but it definitely does indicate it.

Maybe having two couples, at the same time, in the same place, is what's making this even more confusing than it should be.
What I'm absolutely sure of is, the Rose, or Rosanna that I am looking for died in Delaware, in 1916. She immigrated in 1872 or 1873 and had a sister named Teresa Doherty, who married Edward Ruddy. Supposedly Teresa lived in Gartnacuile right before she was married.
Rosanna also married Dennis Dougherty, in 1973 in the US.
I guess my next step is to try to sort through the 2 Doherty/Mooney couples.
Thanks for the help.

Eilean,
I think I'm the wrong person to ask. I'm still trying to wrap by brain around townlands, parishes, provinces, etc. It's totally confusing.
Go here and type in Gleneely. It will bring it up on a map. It seems there are quite a few Cashells.
This page make it less confusing for those not living in Ireland.

Did your Hugh marry a Rose, by any chance?

Hi Colleen
I've just joined after learning about your post. I'm curious about your interest/knowledge about your search as I am the granddaughter of the Thomas Doherty born 1868 son of Mary Mooney and Arthur Doherty Cashel Gleneely Co Donegal. Please make contact to clarify your relationship. I think there is some mix up in the records as not all family names are familiar.
