I am would be grateful if someone could locate the parents and siblings of John  Clayton Hodson and Launcelot Venerable Hodson. I am wondering if the family left Ireland and were in England for the 1841 and 1851 census

I have found the two brothers in the UK for the 1861 and 1871 census,  born  Dublin, Ireland,  both married and training as Doctors.

 Regards Gertie

				Hello Gertie
The Hodsons you ask about are my ancestors.  I have just spent the last 6 months researching them.  George (my GGG Grandfather) was married to Sarah (nee Clayton) and they had the following children:  Thomas 1818 (also a Doctor), Jane Elizabeth 1822 (married George Newport Pickstock, also a Doctor), Peter 1823, Launcelot 1824, John Clayton 1825, Sarah Ann 1831 (my GG Grandmother, she married her cousin Peter Hodson), Emily 1832 (a spinster) and Alfred 1834.  Launcelot and Mary had one daughter, Agnes in 1856 (a spinster) and John Clayton and Susanna had 2 sons, Thomas died as a baby and Arthur died when he was 11.  In the 1881 census the 2 sisters are living at 4 Grosvenor Terrace, Chiswick with their brother-in-law Alfred and his daughter Amelia.  Susanna is shown as "imbecile" at this time, she died in 1881 and is buried at Sandbach.  I have a tree on Ancestry.com.au if you can access it, there is a lot more info!  Hope this is of help,  Alaine Lloyd
