I am looking for information on the Camps that were set up for the Evacuees at the start of WW2. Is there a list of Names for those who lived in these camps....
or can anyone suggest where to look for a list.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Children would have attended the local school- PRONI might have the registers. Should list name, date of entrance, age or birthdate, residence (townland or street), religion, father's occupation (not father's name), date struck off. Sometimes if you are lucky the previous school will be listed and/or school they are transferring to.

There are quire a few camps just outside Broughshane, for example :-
Dunaird N 54° 53.735 W 006° 10.782
Drummuck N 54° 53.928 W 006° 09.467
Children may have attended some of the rural schools in the area rather than hoing into Broughshane itself

All you need to know about the camps is on here. At the site of each camp Ballymena Council have erected signs to show where the camp was as in some cases nothing remains of the camps. Others such as Dunaird stilll have the Nissan huts in place.
I happened to come across Camp 8 and 9 when I was hiding Geocaches, otherwise I would have known nothing of them.
