Hi there
Trying to track down admissions/discharges from Putnam House in 1939. Bucks RO say that all records were transferred to a charity, Parents And Children Together, but specifically said that they thought very few records prior to 1952 were still in existence
Ive contacted Parents And Children Together and they say they have no records from Putnam House at all
Has anyone had an joy in finding out where these records may be?
Thanks

Hi, just wondered - since its been a year since you posted - if you had had any joy tracking down the records? I'm hoping to find one from 1946 and possibly another earlier.

Hi there
I m afraid I'm no closer to finding out but have to admit it hasn't been a priority in the past year. Good luck with your research

Hi just come across your question,I have tried over a number of years to find out more pre 1952 records without any luck.Putnam House was administered by the Diocese of Church of England Oxford they have no records. The for Library for Buckinghamshire Studies in Aylesbury have some photos of Putnam House but little information.

Hi
I'm searching for records from Putnam House 1964. Just wondering if anyone knows where these records are kept, have not been successful so far and have tried a few avenues to try and find these records. I was born there in April 1964 and would love to know all about Putnam House and what it was like.
Thank you
Louise

I have been to the Centre for Buckinghamshire Studies and they have very little factual evidence only a few photos. So far as I know it was managed by the Diocese of Oxford but they transferred the records to a children's charity a few years ago.I had no luck try to get hold of the records and have all but given up looking,if any one hears anything I would like to know please.

Hi all
The records for Putnam House post-1952 are held by Parents and Children Together https://www.pactcharity.org/
PACT Reading
7 Southern Court,
South Street,
Reading.
RG1 4QS
Telephone - 0300 456 4800
I also tried Action for Children but they didnt administer Putnam House. They suggested http://childrenshomes.org.uk/ however the records they hold are for children who went into their care. My uncle didnt as his mum took him home, which seems brave in 1939
Good luck with the research
