Title: prison records
Post by: unilove18 on Tuesday 25 June 13 14:36 BST (UK)
Hey was wondering if anyone knew anything about northern ireland prison records back in the 30s, im trying to trace a murder that happened in the 30s and I know the man that committed the crime, just trying to find the proper year in which it happened, as I cant find the death record of the person that died.
Is there any way of tracing the prison records????

Try PRONI, Belfast.

Laura,

You can try the following link to the British Newspaper Archive for the Belfast Telegraph. The murder may have been reported on in the newspaper.

If you join you get a few free credits to view 3 newspaper articles. You view a page as a PDF Document and can zoom in to read articles.

Good Luck,
Andy

Belfast Central Library has back copies of many of the newspapers in Northern Ireland. PRONI also has some (not necessarily the same papers). Neither is on-line though and a personal visit is normally required to access them.
