Elsie Burton worked as a teacher in Manchester, in the Miles Platting area I believe, during 1930s. She and some of her pupils were evacuated to Hulland in Derbyshire and she was billeted with my grandmother. Elsie became a family friend and always stayed with us during the summer holidays after the war and into the 1950s. Her home was in Levenshulme. Does anyone have any information about her? I realise how little I really knew of her.

Hi
Can you clarify exactly what type of info you are looking for? Her teaching career or her private life?
Roughly how old was she when you knew her. Do you know which school she taught at or what age pupils (primary or junior)
Did she have any other christian names apart from Elsie
There are no documents online apart from a possible birth/death registration so you are really dependant on somebody with personal knowledge of her seeing this post

Was she a married lady- or was Burton her birth name?

Elsie was a spinster. She was still teaching after the war and probably into the mid to late 50s. She retired to Greenodd near Ulverston and died in the early 1970s where I do not know.
