I'll have ago, but you will find a number of good hearted folk will submit their efforts - we like a challenge.

What sort of result do you want:

Change to black and white
Adjust sharpness, brightness and contrast
Colourise

If we know what you expect we can better meet your  needs.

Hi Mike

You dont have to beat that, many different tricks can be carried out on a picture. I do all the pictures I can and let other people judge them, deadants is very honest in his remarks and I always look forward to his replys and ideas.

Do your picture and upload it, It does not matter if 50 versions are uploaded thats 50 versions better than the original I say, we are all here to learn and help each other. You dont have to ask what needs doing just do what you think needs doing, if the final picture looks good to you then its done.

Regards
Ken

The image is a bit small but here is my attempt.  I have used levels to pull the image back and then used a saturation layer to reduce the discolouration.

Thanks everyone, I really like the balck and white image. it really seems to make it look cleaner and brighter. I also like the colour image to it kind of brings the image back to life, if that doesn't sound too strange.  :)

Another entry. (that's a very small image!)
I feel the same way about color. It does seem to bring life to the images. Perhaps because we see everyone in color and not sepia.

When colouring sepia photos do you remove the sepia 1st or adjust it? Your image looks very clean whereas mine always look grey.

Actually, Sepia is often used as a base when coloring, and prefered over b&w.  I never leave a single pixel uncolored/gray. White, black, and even gray are all colored.
Perhaps you're getting gray because there is not enough color blocking it out. Could also be that the image has too much contrast, and/or is too dark.

Wow,  this place has been hopping while I've been away. It sure is great to Vikki contributing to the forum. I have seen her work on the RetouchPRO forum and it was a complete mind blower. I'd say Amy would be fairy pleased with the effort all contributed to this photo
