Hi.
I have a note that Ebenezer married Anne Bartlett in Wiston on 22 Sep 1836. Can anyone verify if there are any details of Ebenezer's parents recorded?
Thanks in advance...

Hi
Pre-1837 marriage entries do not show fathers names. Mothers names are not shown on English/Welsh marriage certs

Witnesses were John and Benjamin Davies (if that helps). Ebenezer, John and Benjamin all signed their names, Anne with an x.

The easy bit
Anne Bartlett was batpised at Wiston 1816 dau of John & Rachel Bartlett. John Barltett had mrd Rachael Phillips at Wiston in 1810 and may be descended from Michael Bartlett who marred Elizabeth Harries at Wiston in 1774.
A look at the wills of John Bartlett of 1838 and Michal (sic) Bartlett of 1813 both of Wiston on the NLoW website may reveal more information.
There is no reference to the baptism(that I have yet found) to an Ebenezer Davies at Wiston.

Thanks for the digging Oriel. I think Ebenezer will have been an "incomer" although I don't believe he was the Ebenezer that crops up having originated in Brawdy. Don't know why, it just doesn't feel right. He also disappears (dies) quite young also. Clearly a man of mystery.
