Hi,

I'm trying to find out information on Ellen Elizabeth White, she was born around 1868 in Portsmouth, her mother and father may have been Mary and Arthur, I believe she may have married in 1888 (Portsea island) and moved to Liverpool.

I would be grateful for any help, confirmation on her Mum and Dad and, also who she married

Do you have a copy of her marriage cert confirming her fathers name was Alfred?

This is the only birth reg but it shows her as Eliza not Elizabeth - assuming it's the right birth reg

There's quite a lot of 'maybes' there!  ;)

May I ask how you arrived at the possibility of these parents' names and where she was born?  All these little clues do help.

Presumably she married Thomas Birch?

1881 census has 5 possibilities for Ellen.
Without her father's name from the marriage certificate, it's difficult to tell which one is her?!

Hi All,

I have requested a marriage certificate, I traced her through the Ancestry website. I think she married Thomas Birch who was in Portsmouth around that time. I could be looking at the wrong family.
