Title: Knockavilla Parish Church of the Assumption
Post by: Lkgilligan on Tuesday 11 June 13 18:04 BST (UK)
If someone lived in the Knockavilla Parish and attended the Church of the Assumption in the 1800s, what is the name of the cemetery where they would most likely be buried?
Have found in research headstones tell you a lot. Looking for Ryan (needle in haystack), Aherne, and Heffernan from Glenough area clues.

Hi,
Ballintemple would be the most popular of local grave yards, but there are old grave yards in Ballygriffin & Ballinahinch both in the parish which may have been used, even if they attended church in Knockavilla they may not be buried in parish, my family are natives of the area & are buried in several places outside of the parish.
The fact you mention Glenough, I would think you could also try Rossmore
