Hi,
Charles and Ann Summers had 4 children ( Charles, Robert, Ann and Mary ) Baptised in Birmingham St Martins between 1779 and 1784.
I have found no record of a marriage for this couple.
If anyone has other local records, I would be very grateful to hear of any reference to this family.
Many Thanks
Martin Summers

The only Charles Summers marrying an Ann / Anne or Annie that I can find is 21st June, 1773 in London. Ann's maiden name was Cable.
Perhaps thisis the wrong area, or too early for the birth of their first child in 1779.
Witness' to marriage - the mark(s) of Ann Summers and Mary Boulton

Thanks Susan,
I'd seen the London reference and like you suggest thought it probably too early.
Charles Jnr went to sea, but Robert appears to have remained localish, so I hoped to find a reference locally. I understand that many of the local registers are not indexed on the the big regular web sites. Knowing where to look is my first problem!
Thanks again for a very quick reply.

I would suggest that you contact BMSGH and ask for a look up in their marriage index service. A very small fee is requested by the Society but it is worth every penny. Even worth it if they do not have it as it is one more thing to eliminate.
