Marriage Greasley
29-8-1822 Samuel Chambers and Mary ANNABLE
There is a Mary Annable baptised Greasley 28-1-1800 with parents Job and Elizabeth.
You have her as born 1880, which I am thinking is a mis hit key!
I can find no baptism that fits for Samuel. The nearest 1794 in Newark.
Do you want the baptisms for the children of Samuel and Mary at Wollaton?
Burials Wollaton surname Chambers.
23-4-1826 John aged 2-- scalded to death.
31-3-1835 John aged 8
18011-1862 Enoch aged 29
3-2-1865 Mary aged 65

Dear Larkspur,
Thank you for your help and interest, you are quite right my error Mary Annable was born 1800
her parents were Job Annable 1754 and Elizabeth Dobb 1764
Thank you for the offer of Baptisms I have those as being at St Leonards Wollaton.
I was not aware of a John Chambers B 1835, Thank you:
Your comments for Enoch were very Interesting as I have Enoch moving to Tamworth Staffs to be with his brother Thomas, wondered what happenendlooks like he returned Nottinghamshire?.
Samuel did live in Tamworth Staffs until his death, 1871 Census shows Samuel living with Thomas and Harriet :
Mary died as you show 1865. Few years later Samuel living Tamworth.
Emma Chambers who worked at Wollaton Hall(My line) married James Wilding they were both in service most of their early married lives
As with most things Geneaology, when searching we will not find ;D all the answers:
Thank you:Ansett

Just to go off topic. I see you have Cartwright in Staffs. My 4x great grandmother was Jane Cartwright born Wombourne About 1779. Any connection?

The marriage of Ruth Rollins and John Cartwright produced 5 children

Hi ansett, just wondering while looking at a few Family Trees on Ancestry, all quote death registration as Jan. Quarter 1872, Tamworth 6b 277, but post it as Middleton, Warwickshire.
Not sure which is correct.

Hello Skewy,
This was a tricky one for me,I'm not sure if the borders of the counties changed over the years, you are correct re Tamworth. When checking the Chambers family tree it appeared that Samuel's oldest son Thomas
travelled to Middleton from Nottingham to work. (I Imagine) Samuel followed.
When checking the marriages of Thomas Chambers children they appeared in the Tamworth district
of the BMD"s.sometimes the area was Warwickshire/Staffordshire.All children show Middleton as their place of birth:
When Samuel Chambers died I did find it under Tamworth, most confusing as living in Australia I had forgotten my geography:
I wondered after, should I have put my request for the Chambers family into the Staffordshire
part of Rootschat:?Regards Ansett

Hi ansett, you have nothing to worry about, as I live here but didn't know, or check the distance. Yes they are different counties but only 5 miles apart.
It could well be worth posting on the Staff's board though.

Hello Skewy,
You might be able to help me...............Just curious:I noticed the address with the Chambers family living Middleton.
The Census, address shown was Hunts Green, Thomas Chambers was a Game Keeper,at a later date unemployed.
Does Hunts Green still carry that name? or like so many places is now housing Estate:or long gone!
Had a look not able to find anything interesting about the place, thought you might enlighten me:
Best wishes Ansett:

Hi ansett, I've just entered Hunts Green, Staffordshire on Google Earth and it's all still there as a small village. A signpost I saw in streetview said, Tamworth 4 Miles & in the other direction Middleton 3/4 Mile. I'll look more later.

Hi Skewy,
Thanks for that information, never gave google earth a thought:
Burning the midnight oil last night I was trawling through the newspaper archives for Middleton'Tamworth I came across the death notice for Thomas Chambers, lived in Middleton for over 60 years formerly keeper to the late John Peel, I also found the death notice for his wife Harriet,(Paulson)
both highly respected residents.
I will now try and track down where Thomas worked, I suspect Middleton Hall.
This has been the icing on the cake for me now I know for certain what became of the Chambers family:Your message also confirms and makes sense of the distance where they lived.
Thank you :Kind regards Ansett Australia:
