When I was young, I lived not far from Holloway Road.
Any folks with Lower or Upper Holloway connections.

Hi Zelley,
I did not live in your area growing up, was down the road at Harringay but I used to visit my grandfather in Stepney and Mum always took me on the bus. I can remember passing Holloway Prison and thinking what a ominous looking place!!

Do you remember the Harringay Arena?
I lived on Marlborough Road running perpendicular from Holloway (north end) and Liverpool at the southend of Holloway.
-
Yes, we lived in Stanhope Gardens, it backed onto the Arena. Used to go stock car racing and my Dad saw the greyhounds.

By naming ceremony took place at the lower part
of Holloway at St. Mary Magdelane.
And how many of us tripped and ran through Hampstead Heath

As a follow-up to our Holloway Happenings, I remember posting a piece on a London mailing list with the subject called
"The Iceman & The Flower Lady".
Without repeating the full story, the first paragraph went like this:
- It was a far cry from the "penny for the gas meter
on Marlborough Road, but one warm memory after my arrival in Canada was going for a ride with the local iceman while he delivered blocks of ice from house to house.
Or do you remember the clip clop as the rag and bone man travelled down some long forgotten cobbled lane in
"London Town". :D

But did you spend a sunny Sunday at Hampstead Heath or Finsbury Park
-
Sometimes Finsbury Park, but often Dad would drive us up to Ally Pally. J
